Janusz Bielecki is a composer and author of original musical projects.
His phonographic debut was the 2007 album “Rozterka” (Quandary), a collection of piano pieces composed, arranged and performed by himself.
In May 2008, he began his collaboration with the pianist Ireneusz Boczek. This cooperation resulted in two records, which included interpretations of “Żądze” (Desires), which is a musical illustration of struggles with love. The first of these albums – “Desires” – contains 10 compositions by Janusz Bielecki arranged by Ireneusz Boczek for the piano and string quintet. The next album – “Symphonic Desires” – marked the beginning of his collaboration with the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and Michał Nesterowicz, the Artistic Director of Orquesta Sinfonica de Chile.
In Autumn 2009, another concert tour, “Lustra” (Mirrors), took place. It was an ambitious project organised with panache, in which classical and jazz music were combined in arrangements by Andrzej Jagodzioski against a background of bold scenic design. Guest artists for this project included some of the top Polish jazz musicians: Andrzej Jagodzioski, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Robert Majewski, Czesław Bartkowski and Adam Cegielski.
In June 2010, Janusz Bielecki ‘s “Zegary” (Clocks), a musical reflection on the passage of time, premiered in a concert at the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic in Cracow, performed by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra and conducted by Michał Nesterowicz, with soloists Ireneusz Boczek on the piano and Robert Kwiatkowski on the violin.
“Sekrety” (Secrets), another composition by Janusz Bielecki, refers to key stages and turning points in human life and development; its premiere took place in February 2011 at the Cracow Philharmonic.
Janusz Bielecki’s music is characterised by vivid imagery, harmony, a strong emotional tone and a perceptible – almost personal – intimate mood.
In 2009, Janusz Bielecki initiated the Bielecki Art Foundation, aimed at promoting the arts and culture and supporting the development of new, young talent.
